Operations
All of ASIO’s activities are entirely volunteer-led, with 100% of efforts driven by dedicated community members. No administrative funds are allocated, ensuring that all resources directly support programs and services.
Mission-led, ASIO operates in accordance with IRS regulations:
- Added new board members to support and strengthen leadership
- Dedicated committees to oversee key areas of operation
- A formal accounting process was implemented using QuickBooks, enabling the generation of financial statements and reports for funders, donors, and stakeholders.
- Applying to grants
- Filing tax returns, DOJ reports, state registration and renewals as needed
With DEEP Appreciation
“Not all heroes need a stage. Some uplift a community simply by being there.”
These dedicated individuals and many others quietly worked in the background, helping Harbansji in ASIO’s early stage and till today continue to dedicate their time

Emerging
Beyond its social and cultural programming, ASIO has also become a strong advocate for senior wellbeing—collaborating with local officials to improve public amenities such as park restrooms and public transportation.
Today, both visiting and resident seniors have found connection through shared interests, participating in international travel, local sightseeing tours, multigenerational gatherings, talent shows, and picnics—creating enriching experiences, lasting relationships, and a strong sense of community.
Over time, a variety of vibrant, senior-led groups have flourished, including laughing club, coffee circles, singing groups, and photography meetups. Staying true to its mission of fostering connection and inclusion, ASIO has supported these initiatives by providing its WhatsApp platform as a hub for communication, coordination, and community-building.
Current Programs
Our four core programs receive strong and enthusiastic participation:
Cultural Celebrations & Entertainment: Honoring traditions through vibrant celebrations such as Diwali, along with opportunities to participate in bingo, plays, singing, dancing, exercise, music, talent shows, and theatrical productions—creating joyful spaces for connection and nostalgia
Outdoor Activities & Hiking: Three annual multigenerational picnics foster meaningful connections across age groups, while gentle weekly nature walks encourage physical activity, social interaction, and shared food experiences in a relaxed, natural setting
Book Reading & Discussion: Monthly gatherings provide a space for seniors to engage in thoughtful discussions on selected books—offered free of charge—encouraging lifelong learning, critical thinking, and community dialogue
Health, Fitness & Welfare: Dedicated to aging well, this program offers physical fitness sessions, laughing club activities, and workshops on mental health and financial literacy—empowering older adults with tools to support their well-being and independence.
