Finding Shelter B at the Park

Most of us arrive together on the chartered bus, which drops off right at the picnic area. If you are driving yourself, here is how to reach Shelter B:

For your GPS: Rooster Rock State Park, 39001 E Historic Columbia River Hwy, Corbett, OR 97019.
The shelter has no separate street address — navigate to the park, then follow the steps below.
  1. From I-84 East take Exit 25 (Rooster Rock State Park). The entrance is right off the exit.
  2. About half a mile in, stop at the fee booth and pay the day-use parking fee — $10 for Oregon residents, $12 for non-residents. If you have an Oregon State Parks annual pass, parking is free.
  3. Continue on the main park road into the day-use area and follow the signs for the group picnic shelters.
  4. Shelter B is a covered shelter with picnic tables, running water, and electrical outlets, with restrooms nearby. Look for the ASIO group gathered there.

Please note: The Shelter B area is over grass and uneven ground and is not formally wheelchair accessible, so please allow a little extra time walking from the parking area.
