ASIO Privacy Policy

Thank you for visiting the Association of Seniors of Indian Origin (ASIO) website and reviewing our Privacy Policy. This policy addresses the collection, use, security, and access to information that may be obtained through the use of this website.

Basic Information Collected

When you visit the ASIO website, we may automatically collect and store the following information:

  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address and domain name
  • The type of browser and operating system used
  • The date and time of your visit
  • The webpages or services you accessed
  • The website you visited prior to coming to this site

This information helps us improve the content and delivery of our web services. We analyze website logs to enhance the materials and services available on our site. We do not attempt to link website logs with individual visitors.

Email and Surveys

If you participate in a survey or send an email through the ASIO website, we may collect:

  • Your email address and email contents
  • Information voluntarily provided in response to a survey

We use your email to respond appropriately, whether to address your concerns, improve our website, or forward the email to relevant parties. Survey information is used for its designated purpose. Please note that emails and survey responses are public records.

Online Services

ASIO intends to offer more online services to improve accessibility. If you use an online service (e.g., purchasing a chartered Bus Tour), we will collect only the information necessary to conduct that service. Your data will not be used for any other purpose without your permission.

ASIO may work with private vendors to provide online services. These vendors act on behalf of ASIO and will comply with this Privacy Policy.

ASIO Photography & Videography Policy

ASIO may use photographs, images, names, audio, and video recordings of community members and their guests for general communication, website content, social media, promotions, publicity, and advertising.

Because ASIO events occur in public settings, we cannot collect release forms from all attendees. By attending ASIO events, meetings, or programs, you (or your parent/guardian for children under 18) consent to the use of your image and/or voice by ASIO.

Opt-Out Policy

Community members who do not want to be photographed or recorded may opt out by:

  • Notifying ASIO-affiliated photographers or videographers during events
  • Removing themselves (or their children) from areas where photography/recording is taking place

While ASIO will make reasonable efforts to honor opt-out requests, failure to opt out explicitly may result in inclusion in ASIO materials.

Personal Information and Choice

“Personal information” refers to identifiable data such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. A domain name or IP address is not considered personal information.

We collect no personal information unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g., by sending an email, participating in a survey, or accessing a service). If personal information is requested or provided, it may become a public record subject to public inspection, unless protected by law.

Cookies

ASIO uses cookies to enhance user experience. Cookies are text files stored on your computer by your web browser. They help distinguish visitors but do not contain personally identifiable information.

You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings.

Security

The security and integrity of the ASIO website are critical for providing services and protecting user privacy. ASIO employs authentication, monitoring, encryption, and other security measures to safeguard user data.

Security measures are integrated into the website’s design, implementation, and daily operations.
