October-November: A Celebration of Culture, Community & Light 🪔

October brings with it a beautiful season of celebration from joyful festivities of Navratri to Dussehra and finally to Diwali on November 7, 2026, the Festival of Lights. We look forward to celebrating the values that bring us together-kindness, gratitude, family, friendship, and new connections.

ASIO Diwali Celebrations
  • Saturday, October 24, 2026

    Venue: Chinmaya Mission Haridwar, 3551 NE John Olsen Ave., Hillsboro, OR 97124

    Time: 3 to 5:30 pm

    Fee: Members – Free, Non-members – $15.00, Children ages 6 – 18 – $10, Children ages 5 and under – Free.

    Come join us to celebrate Diwali with family and friends. Music and dance followed by tea and snacks.

Beaverton Meetings

Friday, October 9, 2026

Venue:  Beaverton City Library, Auditorium 

             12375 SW 5th Street

Meeting Time: 2:30 – 4:30 pm

Topic: Why you need more than a Will in Oregon and Washington presented by Kate Kilberg.

Kate Kilberg, a Harvard law graduate and experienced estate planning attorney, will be discussing the essential elements of a comprehensive estate plan. The presentation is intended to prepare you to be an informed consumer of estate planning services. Please bring your questions! There will be an informal Q & A after the brief presentation. Please forward this invite to anyone who may benefit from this information including your adult children.

Bethany Meetings

Bethany Meetings at Chinmaya Mission have concluded for the year. We look forward to reconnecting in the coming year.

Senior Health Screening:

Where: Bethany library Annex (next to Subway)

             4888 NW Bethany Blvd., Ste. K2, Portland, 97229

When: Friday, October 2, 2026, 10:45-1:00 PM

Dr. Meenakshi Aggarwal along with other volunteer medical students will be conducting blood pressure and depression screening Clinic for seniors in our group. She will give advice for those who have elevated blood pressure. No medications will be prescribed and will be advised to seek permission from their personal physician.

Bingo Games (WhatsApp)

Every Monday and Thursday | 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. PST

No money exchanged. Just for fun!
